Wood Stork With a face only a mother could love |
Brown Pelican |
We have not seen a Roseate Spoonbill here in the immediate neighborhood but it is a popular wish-list spotting for birders who visit SW Florida for obvious reasons. Just look... We have seen this bird near Lover's Key State Park and when visiting Sanibel |
Roseate Spoonbill |
Cormorant |
Cormorants and Anhingas are both diving birds that swim and hunt fish. Both birds commonly sit at the waterside and spread their wings to dry them. The anhinga has a pattern that is quite striking the first time you encounter one. We see these in the lake around Tarpon Gardens frequently. |

Moorhen or Marsh Hen |
